Wayne State created the Merit Scholars Alumni Annual Scholarship to honor the Merit Scholars program's tradition of excellence. While many Honors College students receive scholarships, there are educational expenses that the Merit Scholars Alumni Scholarship cover that other scholarships do not, such as textbooks, housing and meals.
