Honors Ambassadors
Honors Ambassadors exemplify what it means to be an Honors student - they are directly involved in the Honors College, in their major departments and around campus.
The primary function of an Honors Ambassador is to assist the Honors College at its recruiting events (Honors Preview Days) and other major university functions, including Open House in the fall and spring. The Ambassadors are the College's best recruiting tool because they provide prospective students with firsthand knowledge of the Honors experience, answering questions such as:
- What are HON 1000 and PS 1010 like?
- Where is the best place to study on campus?
- Is Honors hard?
- What is service-learning like?
Ambassadors also organize social events for students. In the past year Ambassadors have planned:
- Game nights
- Restaurant outings
- Bi-weekly coffee hours in the Honors Study Lounge
Other duties include working at the Honors Information Desk, answering questions from current and prospective students about the Honors curriculum and programs, and attending select first-year student Passport events.
Ambassadors are selected every winter semester after undergoing an interview process with current Ambassadors and Honors staff members. To learn more about becoming an Honors Ambassadors, please call 313-577-3030 or stop by the Information Services .
