Admission for first-year students
First-year students are admitted to the Honors College by a direct-admission process based upon the high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores submitted when they applied to Wayne State; there is no separate admissions process. Typically, first-year Honors College admission requires a minimum 3.65 high school GPA and a minimum 27 ACT/1280 SAT (if test scores are submitted). Once admitted to Wayne State, incoming first-year students selected for the Honors College will receive a letter from the dean informing them of their admission and inviting them to visit for more information.
First-year students who are admitted into the Honors College are on track to complete University Honors, an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary co-major leading to University Honors distinction at graduation.
