Departmental Honors
Students pursuing Departmental Honors earn honors credit within their major field of study, completing anywhere between 12-26 credits. Credits earned while completing departmental honors have the potential to satisfy both requirements of the Honors College and the student's major field of study.
To graduate with Departmental Honors, students will need to complete the required number of honors credits (determined by the academic department) along with a HON 42xx level honors seminar and a thesis course. Students must maintain a 3.3 cumulative GPA to graduate with Departmental Honors (unless noted by the department). All students requesting a block lift must complete this online form.
Honors recommends first checking with your departmental advisor to confirm all requirements needed before starting Departmental Honors.
If you have any questions, feel free to call the Honors College at 313-577-3030 or email honors@wayne.edu.
