The Honors Model United Nations team is seeking one additional participant to round out its all-collegiate delegation that includes four returning members: Kendall Calkins, Sean Bhalla, Pridvi Kandagatla, and Rami Zein. The National Model UN competition will take place in midtown Manhattan (just blocks away from UN headquarters) from March 18-22, 2008. All Honors students - even those without prior model UN experience - have an opportunity to participate and are encouraged to apply for this all-expenses-paid experience.

The WSU Model United Nations Team is co-sponsored by Honors and Political Science. By being selected to join this delegation, you will represent the university while working with hundreds of student leaders from across the world. Students will be granted a forum in which they can utilize their writing, speaking and diplomatic skills to find comprehensive resolutions to the most pressing matters that afflict the world today.

To apply, students should submit an essay as directed below to Nancy Galster (ngalster@wayne.edu) before Friday, Oct. 27, at 5:00 p.m.:

In at least 200 words (double spaced), explain why the United Nations' existence is vital in today's world, and if you are accepted, what the opportunity of participating in a United Nations simulation would do for you concerning your professional and academic ambitions. (Please include your name, class year, and e-mail address on your essay submission.)
