The Irvin D. Reid Honors College is sponsoring its annual Honors Service Day - an event dedicated to volunteerism in the community. Each year, the Honors College partners with local service organizations to identify community needs that students can assist in resolving. This year, Honors students will be providing service to Green Living Science, Burton International School, St. Vincent De Paul, and Boll Family YMCA, with the list of service locations expected to grow. More than 400 WSU student volunteers are expected at this one-day event, including staff and faculty. Honors Service Day will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM and will begin with registration in front of the Undergraduate Library on WSU's main campus.

"Service to our community is a pillar of the Honors College and is a practice we place a high value on," says Jerry Herron, Dean of the Irvin D. Reid Honors College. "To have hundreds of Honors students give up a Saturday to do good in our community makes all of us at Wayne State University very proud."
