Honors Program Releases Self-Study Report in Advance of National Collegiate Honors Council Site Visit, Nov. 14-16.
Wayne State University's Honors Program released a comprehensive self-study report today in advance of a National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) site visit November 14-16.
This self-study report reflects the progress of the Honors Program throughout the past decade. The report also affirms Honors' commitment to supporting Wayne State's core undergraduate education and research missions.
The Honors College conversation is already taking place on our campus," said Jerry Herron, director of the Honors Program. "This site visit will allow us to take that conversation, and our outstanding Honors experiment, to the next level.
The NCHC site visitors will experience two busy days on campus and will have the opportunity to meet with an array of university constituents including the Honors Council and Honors Board of Visitors, instructors who teach Honors courses, as well as the Council of Deans and Academic Senate Policy Committee. In addition, site visitors will speak with both President Irvin D. Reid and Provost Nancy S. Barrett.
One highlight of the visit will be an opportunity for the visiting team to attend the Undergraduate Research Conference, a showcase of talented undergraduate researchers to be held November 16 at McGregor Memorial Conference Center.

In its role as the premier national organization dedicated to the promotion and advancement of honors education, the NCHC defines basic characteristics of honors programs and colleges. This site visit will bring a panel of experienced external reviewers to campus to discuss continued success and growth for Honors.
