Wayne State University's Honors Program released its 2006-2007 Annual Report today.

The Honors Annual Report highlights some successes of academic year 2006-2007 including:

70% of Scholars Day attendees enrolled at WSU, including 12 National Merit Scholars and finalists.

Nearly 100 students participated in the Undergraduate Research Conference, a showcase of talented undergraduate student research and creative projects.

The Center for Community Based Education was awarded grants from the McGregor Fund ($500,000) and Michigan Campus Compact ($120,000).

Generous giving to Wayne State and Honors scholarships continued to increase.

A successful Honors articulation agreement was signed with Henry Ford Community College.

Honors exemplifies Wayne State University's commitment to the urban experience and to the enrichment of teaching, service and research. It is the mission of Honors to promote informed, engaged citizenship as the foundation for academic excellence in a diverse global setting.

The program is home to more than 1,300 students who may choose their majors from among the 126 bachelor's degree programs offered by the university.
