Honors newsletter gets top honor

The National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) Publications Board has announced the winners of its annual newsletter contest. The Irvin D. Reid Honors College newsletter, With Honors, has been designated first place in the faculty/staff/student-published newsletter category for 2008.

Wayne State University employees Carol Baldwin (Marketing and Communications) and Adam Herman (Honors College) were editors for the issues reviewed by the NCHC for this award.

Graphic design and layout services for With Honors were provided by JCI Design of Dearborn.

Dean Jerry Herron will be presented with the first place award at the annual NCHC Presidential Luncheon, to take place in San Antonio on October 25.

The National Collegiate Honors Council is the premier organization for promoting honors education. The NCHC sets standards for honors programs and colleges. A delegation of NCHC site visitors met with Wayne State faculty, staff and students last fall, prior to the January action by the WSU Board of Governors to create the Honors College.
