Historical Studies requirement looming? Take this class!

Honors has an exciting and new opportunity for students who still need to fulfill the historical studies requirement: Honors History 1300 is available and it will fit into your schedule!

HIS 1300 explores the rise and development of modern Europe and European interactions with the rest of the world from the end of the Middle Ages through the 20th century. The emphasis is broadly cultural-in addition to learning about some of the main political and military events that shaped Europe over the centuries, the class covers major themes in religion, philosophy, art, science, and technology. Europe's history as a colonial power ensured that European culture had a strong global impact, so the principal goal of this course is to gain a better understanding of how modern European culture came to be, and how it has affected cultural developments around the world. It is a 4-credit class taught by Professor Eric Ash.
