Do you have any advice for future or current Honors students?
To future and current Honors students, I'd say: be open-minded, take risks, and seize opportunities. Spend as much time as you can on campus, don't underestimate the value of getting involved early on. I started doing that in my third year and I wish I had taken advantage of more opportunities during my freshman year. So, take advantage of every chance you get to network with recruiters, engage with other students, attend events, and join organizations. These experiences will enrich your academic journey, help you build meaningful connections and most importantly create lifelong memories.

I enjoy grabbing a bite at Quickly in the Student Center.
What is your favorite thing to do on campus?
I love walking around main campus and enjoying the university life. I feel like there are always new places to explore because of how big the campus is.
What is a struggle you have overcome?
Although I was born abroad to American citizenship, I spent my entire life in Lebanon, educated in French and immersed in Arabic culture, with English as my third language. Moving to the US two years ago, I had to start from zero, overcoming the challenges of adapting to a new country and culture, while being continents away from home, family and friends. I eventually made it on the dean’s list every single semester, and I became an associate banker at the world’s leading bank, JP Morgan Chase two years before even graduating.
How has your perception of Detroit changed since attending Wayne?
Initially, I had misconceptions about the motor city, Detroit; but since attending Wayne State and thanks to my Honors classes, I've gained a deeper understanding of the city's rich history, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit, which has given me a greater appreciation for it.
