Ali Salamey
Biography
Ali is an Academic Services Officer in the Honors College. After exploring academic and personal interests living in such diverse places as New York, Fez, and Beirut, Ali returned to Wayne State where he completed his undergraduate degree in English. Ali then completed a Master’s in English (NYU), a Master’s in Near Eastern Studies (University of Michigan), and advanced doctoral coursework in Arabic language and literature (U of M). Ali has extensive student services experience working at several research universities in the country as an academic advisor, program manager and assistant director. Ali currently coordinates our pre-professional programming, internships with Rocket Companies, and the President’s Scholars program for National Merit Scholarship Corporation Finalists. Ali also works on the Wayne Med-Direct program, and he is a member of the Academic Senate.
