Fifth Scholars Day added to 2008 lineup: additional volunteers needed Feb. 26.

February 17, 2008
Due to increased interest from prospective students and the highest-ever RSVP rate, a fifth Scholars Day has been added for 2008, to be held on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Scholars Day is a series of invitation-only events during which the Honors College will recruit its inaugural freshman class from the university’s most promising first-year applicants. During the event, students will participate in a group interview, campus tour, and various presentations.

Every student who is invited and participates in Scholars Day will receive a merit scholarship. The minimum award amount for the 2008 Scholars Day is a tuition scholarship of $1,500 a year for four years! Participants also will be considered for increased scholarship offers, up to and including the four-year, full-tuition Presidential Scholarship as well as privately funded scholarships.

Additional faculty, staff and alumni are needed to interview prospective scholarship students. More information on volunteering is available online at http://honors.wayne.edu/scholars_interview.php.

Honors students may volunteer as group leaders for prospective students and their families at
