How to apply to the Irvin D. Reid Honors College
There are two tracks into the Honors College: by invitation or by application.
- Incoming freshmen are invited through their admission application and participation in Scholars Day. A select number of transfer students are invited into the Honors College as part of their consideration for the community college transfer scholarships. Invitations to the Honors College are based on your admissions application – no further application is required.
- Current WSU students and transfer students with a minimum 3.3 or higher GPA may apply for membership in the Honors College. WSU Freshmen may apply after their first term. Applications to the Honors College are processed in February, October, and June. Some departments may require an additional application to pursue Honors in the major.
To apply for membership in the Irvin D. Reid Honors College at Wayne State University, please complete the Honors Application, attach a copy of your current transcript, and submit it to the Honors College, 2100 Undergraduate Library, either in person or by fax at 313-577-6425 or e-mail to honors@wayne.edu.
